Things to do
The island’s entertainment facilities, which can be found close by hotels and apartments in almost all the island’s resorts, offer variety and something unique to each for you to enjoy your holiday to the full. Travel agencies organize day-long excursions to the Drach Caves and Artà, amongst other places, or else the Roman remains of Pollentia in Alcúdia, the beach of Formentor, the Carthusian Monastery at Valldemossa, the Port of Cala Figuera and the islands of Dragonera and Cabrera. However, if you prefer not to go so far, you can while away the hours walking around the surrounding areas and going on country walks.
Other alternatives include aquatic parks, a drive-in safari park, a dolphinarium, exotic birds, historic gardens or areas open to visitors such as the natural park, the “Albufera”, in Muro. As regards nightlife, we must dedicate a separate chapter to it. There are streets lined with bars and pubs, offering tempting drinks and the latest music, as well as the 180 discos which can be found in the tourist areas of Palma and Majorca, all guaranteeing good fun and high spirits right into the early hours of the morning.
For those who like gambling, the Casino (situated some 20 km from Palma) offers you gaming tables and machines. Whether you win or lose, the night club just alongside offers a show of international standards, as do other places around the island. Just remember, you can do anything except get bored!
