Modernism (Art Decó) in Palma
Get to know the imprint modernism left on Palma through the buildings constructed in the early 20th century as a result of the aesthetic and innovative spirit that characterised the past century.
Modernism was introduced to Majorca at the hands of representative figures in Catalan Modernism, such as Antoni Gaudí i Cornet and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, among others, who visited the islands. Buildings such as the Gran Hotel, Can Casassayas, Can Forteza Rey, etc., lend up colourful note to the austerity imposed by the manor homes in the historic centre.
The itinerary includes a visit to the collection of the modernist painter Hermen Anglada Camarasa which belongs to the Foundation ' La Caixa', located at Gran Hotel building.

This itinerary unveils the endless secrets, and curiosities and mysteries ensconced in the ancient stones of the city of Palma.
This itinerary introduces visitors to the tales and legends concealed in the streets and plazas of Palma's old quarter. True tales, in most cases, that were embellished with details provided by popular fantasy and turned into legends when transmitted through the oral storytelling tradition. A stroll during magic summer nights that shows a different side of the historic city centre.

This tour offers a historical and artistic insight into the district of Santa Eulalia, from its medieval origins up to the present day. This area of Palma was one of the most important commercial centres of the old city and it housed many of the headquarters of the city's different trades.
As you stroll through its secluded streets, you will be given the opportunity to learn about age-old trades and professions and to discover some of Palma's most traditional trades, such as haberdashery, tailoring, basket-making, textiles, embroidery, leather or glass-making and silverwork.

The City and the Sea - Palma de Majorca

Valldemossa - Valldemossa - Majorca
'Nature has created everything the poet and painter could ever dream of in this place'
George Sand, A Winter in Majorca.
This itinerary takes visitors around the streets, plazas and most picturesque spots in the village of Valldemossa, an introduction to the places that witnessed French writer George Sand's and Polish composer Frederick Chopin's stay on Majorca.
The celebrated couple resided in this Majorcan village during the winter of 1838-39. Its landscapes, peoples and customs made a strong impression on the writer, who would set them down years later in a book entitled 'A Winter in Majorca' (1841).
During their visit, the couple stayed in cells at the Royal Carthusian Monastery, admission to which is included in the tour.
